There appears to be a major crack in the ranks of the North Atlantic Treaty Orgagnisation, NATO, which thinks it can still make a mockery of Russia as it did to the African country of Libya, under the then Leadership of the Col Mumar Quaddaffi when it declared war on the country in 2011 and eventually killed him and his dream for a united African and one currency backed by goal to compete with the US dollar and EU, euro, forex.
This is because Alexander Stubb, the Finish President despite being pushed by Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose country, Ukraine, is currently at war with Russia is not ready to join the war to fight against Vladimir Putin home country over alleged deployment of drones to its airspace with the intention to launch attack on the country.
Zelenskyy had expected that with the alleged drone missiles deployment to Finland and Romania, purported to have been carried out by Russia would prompt NATO Leadership to invoke the Article 4 and 5 of its Constitution to force members to join Ukraine to fight Russia as it says that an attack on one member nation by an aggressor is an attack on all but got it wrong.
President Stubb may have dampened the enthusiasm of Zelenskyy and the North American country of the United States, US, President Trump when he declared that ”Finland is not at war with Russia”, stressing that if the country’s aircraft enters its airspace, it will investigate and revert to the country to resolve the matter amicably. He had challenged any NATO member country that wants to join the Ukraine- Russia war to go ahead and do so, stressing that Finland would never do so as it is not at war withRussia.
The Ukrainian Leader appears to come to the conclusion that no NATO country, not even the US, United Kingdom,UK, Germany or France is ready to go into direct war with Russia that he had boldly come out to say that ‘’the countries are afraid Russia as Moscow invasion of the central African country had continued, showing no signs of abating.
Zelenskyy was emphatic that. the NATO, countries are scared of Russia ’’. The Ukrainian President ambition to join NATO, which is a security Organization, from the onset is for members to join his home country to fight Russia. In spite of the fact that Ukraine has not been admitted into the Organisation, Joe Biden, immediate past former US, President had confirmed that 50 countries were in full support of Ukraine in the ongoing war with Russia, with funds and supply of weapons to sustain the war.
Given that the US, could not come out to fight Russia because of the dire consequences of forcing Putin to use the nuclear bomb arsenal as he has already targeted two cities in the US and another two cities in the Uk, for attack with nuclear weapons, which many believes may be worse than the atomic bomb used by the US on the two Japan cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 may have informed why the US threads with caution to avoid escalating the war to global level.
JD Vance, the US, Vice President had said that Trump’s Administration is considering a $90 billion arms supply request by Ukraine, stressing that the American President would be ‘’making the final determination on the matter soon’’.
For much of August and now, Zelenskyy, who has been shuttling from European country to another including the US, has been calling on the Western Leaders to provide the country with hypersonic missiles that could hit Moscow and other major cities in Russia far from the front line, that could destroy its military industries and further weaken it to continue the war but to surrender to Ukraine.
Zelenskyy, described as” a puppet of the West ”by Putin, of Russia , who has left no one in doubt that the war between Ukraine and Russia is nothing but a war between the EU, US and Russia, was said to have requested for Tomahawks missiles which have a range of 2,500km, equivalent of 1,500 miles, which security experts had said would put Moscow within reach.
VP Vance, had confirmed that Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian Leaders had been requesting approval for ‘’long range weapons’’ from the US, since Russian invaded the country in 2022, which had snowballed into a full-scale war. Kyiv, may not have made any much impact on the Russian cities despite resorting to destruction of the country’s pipelines, refineries and Petrochemical plants including power plants in some of the Russia region, because of the type of weapons that had been supplied by the allied countries, particular the US.
Past and the President US, Government, were said to have supplied the country with only short -range missiles like the 85 km – ranged GMLRS, guided rockets for HIMARS Launchers and Harm anti-radiation missiles Launched by aircraft. Trump may have made the difference as he has given approval for the supply of the Tamahawk long-range missiles to Ukraine.
Keith Kellog, a US, Army General, and US, envoy to Ukraine, who has been given 100 days to end the Ukraine -Russia war and restore normalcy in Ukraine, appears to have recently supervised the use of the US Flamengo missiles to strike deep into Russia while the Tomahawk cruise missiles are still under consideration. Gen. Kellog had said that the very he was asked to move to Ukraine was the day he knew that Ukraine has been given the authorization ‘’to strike deep into Russia with the US Tomahawk missiles, which very nature are really only for long-range strike into Russia.
The Ukrainian Air-Force with the US, backing were said to shot down a Russia SU 34 fighter jet valued at about US $65 million that flies at 1900 km speed per hour. The shooting down of the Russian fighter jet may have come at a time the Russia President on Monday, Sept 21, 2025, voluntarily offered ”to maintain the limits on deployed strategic arms set out in the last arms control treaty between the two powers once it expires next year if the US does the same”.The Russian parliament may have known that NATO, may play a trick on them that they have passed President Putin’s US $1.1 trn funds to prepare for war with NATO countries.
Going by security reports, the Ukraine -Russia war may had dragged on for this three and half years because of the involvement of the US and the EU, with the initial supply of short -range weapons to Ukraine which appears to have been very effective in ‘’disrupting Russia logistics and air defenses, forcing the East European country change tactics and improving on its equipment, including but not limited, ‘’to maneuver, dispersal and electronic warfare and also kinetic short- range air defense.
More worrisome was the recent decision taken by Ukraine to strike deep into Moscow , Capital of Russia targeting President Putin, the country’s President who was said to have hidden securely in a bunker.The attacks were said to have been carried barely a week after Russia had entered into talks with the US, on the use of the nuclear bomb in the ongoing war with Russia in Turkey, a country , whose President, Tayyip Edogan, had recently had a meet with Trump in Wshing DC after four years of strained relationship.
Note that Putin’s intention, according to informed Diplomatic sources is for the special military operation embarked upon by Russia to stop the expansion of Western Europe into Russian territory was not to last more than 10 days until the EU, UK and US, and all other NATO, member countries entered into the war to support Ukraine.
President Trump had alluded to this that without the US, support, the Ukraine -Russian war would not have lasted more than four days as Ukraine is no match to Russia which manufactures its own weapons including nuclear bombs.
Meanwhile 75% of the US air defense system sent to Israel to defend its airspace during the 12 days war with Iran and Ukraine were said to have been destroyed by the Iranian and Russia Hypersonic missiles, an indication that the US, airspace could be vulnerable to attacks by Russia, China, Iran or any other enemy country if WW3, should breakeout.
Notwithstanding that much of US air defense systems sent to Israel and Ukraine, the US, government, was said to have approved the supply of Tomahawk Long-range missiles to Zelenskyy to strike deep into Russia, to force Putin to the negotiation table on US, terms, which political observers had said the retaliation, might be very devastating for Ukraine.
The Pentagon, on its part, was said to have told the US, long-range weapons manufacturers to double or quadruple their production level as much of its stockpile that could defend the country of any eventual attack from Russia and China, which wants to invade Taiwan had depleted over the last couple of years in fighting proxy wars.
