The Nigerian military, under the close watch of Christpher Musa, an Army General, appears to have set the Bandits Group, terrorizing the north western states of Zamfara, Sokototo, Kaduna, Katsina and the north central state of Niger, into total confusion that they may not come out of it.
The Bandits Group gang Leaders who are worried over the death of Halili Kachalla Sububu, a gold minner, in Zamfara state, from neighbouring West African country of Niger Republic, and acclaimed Leader and financier of the terrorist group, were said to have moved in searchof a new Leader to Coordinate their operations.
The aggrieved bandits group were said to have gathered recently at the residence of the former gang leader in Tungar Daji , Benega, in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara state to elect a new Leaders that will Coordinate their operations in Nigeria, particular, in the north western and north central geopolitical regions.
Given the enormous wealth of the deceased bandits group gang Leader but not deposited in any Nigerian or any other West Coast country to avoid being tacked by security operatives may have informed why the gang Leaders were said ramsacked his house to bring out all the sacks containing money , of different denominations from different countries in the West African sub -region , including gold and other precious stones to be shared to followers.
Confirming what General Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, had said that the deceased bandits group gang Leader and his followers , have the money but cannot save, let alone spend, some o the sacks of money brought out his house in Tunga Daji, were damaged while others were said to be getting rotten after several years of storage and not being putting to use.
Late Subu, may have used his enormous wealth from his illegal gold mining business in Zamfara state to united the various bandits group gangs in Zamfara, Sokoto, Kaduna and Katsina, home state of former President Muhammadu Buhari, in 2020, to escalate attacks on the flashpoint states.
There were indications that the bandits group was heading for a full collapse because of the shaky détente between the non-doctrinated armed groups, particular, the gangs Leaders operating in Zamfara and Katsina axis and one or two of the north western states governments . This may have informed hy they rose from the meeting in 2020, and resolved to end factionalism in the group and unite to fight as a one.
Until late Subbu, emerged as the bandits groups gangs Leader and financier in 2020, the gangs were said to have been separately unleashing violence on Communities , killing , burning, stealing and involved in cattle rustling in Commando-like operations in villages as well as kidnapping of travelers and innocent villagers to demand ransom , that runs into millions of naira , to facilitate their release from their custody.
Indeed, the death of Kachalla, who was said to have had a running battle , initially with two other gang Leaders : Yellow, and Dan Makaranta , may have informed why Dauda Lawal, governor of the north western state of Zamfara and Gen. Musa, the CDS, including the people of the state are optimistic that the end of the road have come for. The bandits group fighters. There are fears in the bandits groups circles that the gang Leaders may no longer agree to work as one as the likes of Turji Bello, who sees himself as a very powerful person , would not wan to subject his Authority to any other gang Leader.
There is no gain sayng the fact that the death of Sububu, the bandits Coordinator and Financier, in Nigeria, may have opened the door open for other bandits Leaders to be killed with ease by the military and the Joint Task Force, JTF, in the north western states, with little or no resistance.
The death of Kachalla Maude, a renowned bandits Leader, from Niger, in the hands of the JTF, at Garin Rinji village, in the western part of Batsari Local Government, in Katsina state, speaks volume. An eyewitness account had confirmed that JTF, acting on intelligence had laid ambush for the Maude gand, who were going to attack a community in the state and opened fire on them , leading to the death of the gang Leader and several of his follors , who have been terrorizing the state, particular, Batsari, Local Government Area, over the years.
Until his death, the notorious bandits group gang Leder , in Katsina state, was said to have confessed of having led attacks on several Communities along Batsari/Danmusa axisis , that was said to have resulted in the death of hundreds of people . He was said to have also confessed of collecting over N130 million from victims of families as ransom. Last June, the military had killed one Buahari Alhaji Halidu, popular, Buharin Yadi’, a gang Leader, believed to have been terrorizing Communities in Kaduna state over the years.
