Hospitality: Transcorp Hotels Aura Platform, A New Dawn In Hotel Business In Nigeria

The Asian country of China emerged coronavirus, popular, COVID 19, appears to have forced Companies in the African Hospitality Industry to develop new marketing strategies to  will more clients and remain the business. One of such Organisations is Transcorp Hotels, a subsidiary of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria, plc founded by Tony Elumelu, a Philanthropist and incidental the Group Chairman.

Given that the Company  is focused  on Consolidating  all the hospitality businesses of the Transcorp Group and providing  strategic  management  to drive the execution  of its strategy, the Company had recently announced the launch of ‘’Aura’’, a digital  platform  through which  travelers  could book for their accommodation , in any of the Group’s Hotels across the African Continent.    The hospitality Company,  may have  developed the new  marketing platform, described as part  of its asset light model by leveraging  on its technology  ‘’to deliver  true hospitality, exciting experiences and drive shareholders value’’.

Dupe Olusola, the Managing Director of the Transcorp Hotels plc,  who could not hide her feelings at the laucnch of the aura Platform facility had said that the Hotel had  launched the Aura Platform  ‘’for booking vacation  homes, holiday’’, which is expected to guarantee and give the clients  a whole new grand experience.  

The Transcorp Hotels Managing Director was said to have told those that cares to listen that the aura Platform was designed   ‘’to connect people to great accommodation, great food and memorable experiences in different cities across Nigeria and Africa in general’’.  She had said that ‘’the Platform will  partner with  homeowners, hoteliers, resttauteurs, tour operator and the locals  in order to redefine travels and tourism in the African Continent.

She had further said that ‘’working with thousands  of partners across  Nigeria and other major cities in Africa,  the Company which is building the Continent’s largest platform for people-driven hospitality Company  would make travelers  ‘’to enjoy  the right selections at the best of prices on aura’’. The good news is that’’ hosts could also earn a lot of money by receiving guests in their unoccupied homes and sharing the local culture with them.

An elated Olusola, the Transcorp Hotels, Chief Executive Officer, CEO, who had described the launching of the aura Platform as a ‘’new dawn  in the Hospitality Industry in Africa’’, had  said that  the Company took the bold initiative to launch the aura facility because ‘’it has been at forefront  of creating  superior guest experience at all of its locations in Africa .

According to her, the Company had to extend  its operations beyond  the Hotel premises because of its Commitment to innovation’’.  This may have informed why she had declared that  aura would ‘’revolutionalise travel and help remind Africans of their deep sense of hospitality’’.

 The launching of the Platform may have brought lots of excitement on the faces of the people, particular, Obong Idiong, CEO, Prudential plc, the aura technology partners, of Transcorp Hotels. Idiong who spoke at the launching of the aura Platform may have shcked guests when he said: finding the right accommodation when you travel could be incredibly complex. He noted that with the aura Platform‘’the options are now available  for the right prices  which were often limited in the past as travelers  sometimes  ended up with accommodation that taints their travel experience’’. He disclosed that with the aura Platform, Transcorp Hotel have been able to solve such problems . This may have  informed  why he had said that Prudential plc is proud to be associated with the Transcorp Hotel project.

He may have gladdened the heart of people by indicating  that’’the aura Platform will determine  the relevance  of locations taking into consideration , the customers’ preferences and requirements to meet them at the point of heir needs’’.

Pricilla Adeboye, a travel enthusiast and one of the early adopters of aura Platform had said that the global Pandemic   had pushed International travel  down her list. However, she still have the feelings that she needed  to take  sometime off workork to spend a week away from home with the family.  ‘’I have found incredible homes in aura that meet my need for space and privacy’’, she had said.

Many believe  that with the successful launching of the aura Platform, coupled with the  technical support of Prudential plc, it has further cemented  Transcorp Hotels leadership role in the African Continent Hospitality Industry  and  reinforced its Commitment  to innovation and superior guest experience across the major cities within the Continent.

A top official of the Company who spoke to The Magazine on phone   had confirmed that at present the Platform   which guarantees guests and hosts  to sign up at the aura.transcorp hotels to start booking  for accommodation or hosting  is only available in Nigeria , which has the largest market . 

The Transcorp Hotels   official, however, said   that’’ plans are underway to extend the services to other major cities in Africa. This is a  good news to travelers in other  African countries in order to enjoy the aura Platform facility and the Hotel’s enduring hospitality.
