When REDTV, Assistant Madams, which was first Launched in January 15, 2020, by the United Bank of Africa, a Pan African Bank, many people knew that with the support of Tony Elumelumeu, a Philanthropist and Chairman of the Pan African Bank and Kennedy Uzoka , the Group Managing Director, it would go places.
The optimism became more pronounced with the Appointment of Bola Atta as the Executive Director of the REDTV, and the decision of the Assistant Madams , Co-producer and Director, Tola Odunsi and Akins Akinkugbe , to partner with the Bank to create top quality content that would see to the success of the Entertainment industry project.
The success of the Assistant Madams at the first Launched in 2020, may have informed why Atta, the Executive Directive REDTV, the Co-producers and Director, Assistant Maam, had to go back to the drawing board for the new cast of the Assistant Madams because of the tmillions of viewers and Fans it have attracted in Nigeria and the African continent in general.
It was not surprising why on Saturday, August 28, 2021, all the stars came out for the exclusive premiere of REDTV, Africa’s foremost lifestyle Platform, latest web series, Assistant Madams, Dark Hearts, at Cilantro in Lagos as invited guests and top officials of UBA, were seated to catch the crème of the African Entertainment Industry .
Note that REDTV, an online network supported by the United Bank for Africa UBA plc, a Pan African Bank over the years had continued to make impact in the creative industry on Nigeria the African Continent in general with a focus on job creation and growth. This is evident with the scores of talents that have discovered and hundreds of jobs that have been created in the African Continent.
The second season of the Assistant Madams season series was said to have revealed new cast members from Across Africa including Dilish Mathews, winner of the 2013 Big Brother Africa, from Namibia; award winning actresses Salma Mumim and Jocelyn Dumass from Ghana as well as Mauwuli Gavor a TV presenter turned actor, also from Ghana.
The series has a star studded cast with Singer and song writer, Sheyi Shay; Timini Egbuson; Big Brother star, Cee-C Nwadiora; Osas Ighodaro who played the infamous Chioma in the first season of Assistant Madams; Femi Branch; Ademola Adedoyin, RED Hot Topics Star, Temilola Young and Eso Dike.The excitement over the return of REDTV’s blockbuster series Assistant Madams 2 was palpable as the show premiered at Cilantro in Lagos on Saturday night .
Beaming with smiles, Atta, Executive Director, REDTV, had welcomed Tony Elumelu, a business mogul and Chairman of the Pan African to the premiere and the Assistant Madams new cast as he was introduced to the top celebrities from the entertainment industry, including the stars of The Men’s Club, Efa Iwara, Sharon Ooja, Enado Odigie, Nengi Adoki and Segilola Ogidan.
Given the the importance attached to the all-important show Kunle Oshodi-Glover; Tobi Osoba; Obi Asika; Debola Williams and his wife Kehinde; Chude Jidenonwo; Fresh L, were also present to swell up the number of the Entertainment Celebrities in Africa invited for the show.
The REDTV, Executive Director, who is also the Group Director for Communications at UBA, may have taken advantage of the show to speak about the passion and drive behind UBA’s continuous support of the African creative industry, stating that ‘’the bank is always on the look-out for innovative ways to enable more youths build upon their talents and embrace their creative side’’.
She maintains that ‘’the Bank would remain committed to the African Continent growing creative industry through its lifestyle channel – REDTV, stressing that Bank officials are really thrilled with’’ the journey thus far’’. Given an insider information, on the Assistant Madams project, she disclosed that ‘at REDTV, We are ‘‘focused on creating a platform where young people can meet, create and harness their art’’.
An elated Atta, who could not hide her feelings, thanked Elumelu, an African well known Philanthropist and the UBA Chairman as well as Uzoka, the Group Managing Director of the Bank, which have the highest Customer base in Africa for their support of all the REDTV initiatives. She was said to have also expressed her Appreciation to Odunsi and Akinkugbe, the Assistant Madams Co-producers at Urban Vision.
Odunsi, the Chief executive Officer , CEO, of Urban Vision and one of the Directors of Assistant Madams was said to have also used the opportunity provided by the show to commend UBA and indeed, REDTV officials, for ‘’the continuous support in ensuring that ‘’’viewers are always provided with the best quality entertainment’’.
