CITA: Jamoh In, Innocent Out

The Executive Director, Finance and Administration at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency ,NIMASA,  Bashir Jamoh has been elected the President of the Chartered Institute of Transport and Administration,CITA.

Jamoh’s emergence as the new President of the transport academy, was after the former president, Prof. Ogwude Innocent, stepped down from his exotic position after serving the institute for about five years which had brought it to limelight both in the local and International scene.The change of baton was said to have taken place in an event to mark the institute’s 2018 National Conference and Annual General Meeting, AGM, held in Oyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.

The event which had the theme: ‘National Transport Commission and the Development of the nation’s Transport Industry,” was a congregation of stakeholders or what some called delegates from Federal University of Technology (FUTO), Owerri, Imo State, Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) and several other delegates  across the country as  including well as delegates from the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA.

In  his acceptance speech, Jamoh expressed appreciation to members of the institute for the trust and confidence reposed on him by electing him the president   of the institute,

promising to bring to the fore the wealth of his experience to move the institute forward. An appreciative Jamoh pleaded with other elected members of the executive to Cooperate with him running the Institute to achieve every of their  promises to members. The NIMASA’s ED equally solicited  the cooperation members  in order to move the Institute  to a new level.

 He commended the Board of Trustee, BOT, of the Institute for their” zealousness, commitment and determination to take the institute to where it is today”, stating  that the Zeb Ikokido headed BOT had effectively  coordinated the affairs of the institute by ensuring that the election that produced him as President was conducted without rancour.

Jamoh, the NIMAS, Executive Director and now President, CITA, is expected to work with Darlington Ofor and  Callistus Ibe, a Professor who were said to have emerged as first and second Deputy Presidents of the Institute respectively. Other members of the team were  Oluropo Owolabi, vice president; Nnamdi Eronini, National Secretary; Pascal Obi, Assistant National Secretary, and Ijeaku Onyewuego, Sani Adamu Muazu,  National Treasurer, and Keneth Ibiama, the National Provost of the institute.
