Barely two weeks into the month of January, 2020 , officials of the United Bank for Africa, a pan African Bank, has left no one in in doubt of its determination to make the REDTV, the country’s foremost lifestyle, platform launched about two months ago the most formidable Entertainment station. The bank has continued to throw its financial weight on the REDTV platform in order to encourage the artists to produce more hit series that would further popularize the station.
Only recently, the Bank launched the much anticipated series, Assistant series, described as a world class series. Recall that the Bank had earlier launched the Men Series Club, which remained a major hit in the nation’s entertainment industry.
Many believe that with the UBA financial support to the REDTV , it has succeeded in providing the enabling environment and opportunities for talented youths in Nigeria and other African countries , since its inception to showcase their skill.
Eyewitness account confirmed that at the launching of the Assistant Dream series, the cre’me de la cre’me of the nation’s entertainment industry and guests from other African countries had gathered at the prestigious Ebony Life Place in Lagos to watch the programme. gathered at the prestigious and newly opened, Ebony Life Place in the nation’s Commercial nerve center , Lagos, to watch the programe.
Chukwukadibia Nnnabuife, a Lagos socialite , who was at the Launching of the Assistant Dreams , entertainment series, said there was no amount of money spent by the Bank to produce the series that would too much, describing it as a world class.
Nnabuife urged the other big Banks in the country: First Bank, Gurantee Trust Bank, popular, GTB, Access and Zenith , to take a cue from UBA plc, to invest in the nation’s entertainment industry in other to bring out more of the country hidden talents.
Given an insider information as someone who has opportunity of watching the series without the story from a third party, he disclosed that it revolves aroud the life of three inspiring female Lagos socialites and their journey to big girl’ status. ‘’The story was very exposing’’, he said. He commended the creativity of Nigerian artists to come out with such crowd pulling entertainment series.
Bola Atta, Executive Producer, REDTV, who has several awards noted that since it was launched by the Bank to support , e Nigerian and African Cretive industry in general, it has pushed the nation’s and African Industry to a new level.
According to her, for the past four years, REDTV alone have created hundreds of employment through entertainment , stressing that the potential revenue that can be generated from the industry had often been underestimated by the government.
She is right. It is only in the recent time that UBA had thrown its weight behind REDTV, that more people have been encourage to leave the traditional Professions and embrace the creativity.

Akins Akinkugbe, Co-producer of Assistant Dreams who could not hide his feelings expressed his delight at the reception which the REDTV new series has been receiving since it was launched in Lagos penultimate week. Akinkugbe, ’’We are pleased to partner with UBA and REDTV to create top quality content and jobs’’, he remarked. He disclosed that the Assistant madams alone employed over 120 people during the filming of the series, describing it as significant.
Among the Lagos socialite that were said to be at the launching of the Assistant Dreams, REDTV, series were Chris Ubosi, Mo Abudu, veteran photographer Kelechi Amadi Obi, Sola Sobowole, Patrick Doyle, Noble Igwe, Juliet Ibrahim, Toke Makinwa, Uru Eke, Obi Asika, Koye Sowemimo, Debola Williams, Sharon Ooja, Bollylomo, Funke Babs Kufreji, Obi Asika, Bisola Aiyeola, Osas Ighodaro, Tana Adelana, Sophie Alakija, Taymesan Emmanuel, Ayo Ayoola, Efa Iwara, and several other entertainers.
It is expected that the Assitant Dreams REDTV series will premiere on Youtube @itsredtv on January 15, 2020. This will further put the Life style Channel on the global entertainment map.
