When Volodymr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian President, said recently that he would do everything within his powers to end the over three- year-old war with the Russian Federation, not many people took him seriously.
Residents of Madrid, Capital of Spain, may have expressed the feelings about they think Zelenskyy as was the general thinking in other parts of Europe. Given that the financial aid from Germany, France, Romania, Bulgaria and other member countries of the European Union, are gradually drying up, may have encouraged the Ukrainian Leader who is facing the allegation of diverting US $100 million fund from donor countries into his private pocket through his cronies to travel to Spain to meet Pedro Sanchez, the country’s Prime Minister to seek for help to continue the ongoing war against Russia.

The message was very clear that if Ukraine and its European partners are not ready to adopt the US peace plan arrangement to end the over three year-old war with Russia, they should stop approaching the American country for help when they run into problem with Russia.
The European Leaders may have known that the US, would turn back, on the region with the improved relation between the North American country and Russia, that President Urula Von der Leyen of the European Commission, had presented a White paper for European Defense to the Parliament in Brussels Belgium, on March 19, 2025, which was said to have been approved by the European Parliament in readiness for implementation by 2030.
The Commission’s ambitious European plan defense package providing financial levers to EU, member states to thrive an investment surge in defense capabilities was said to have also been approved. Based on the white paper report, the European Parliament was said to have equally approved the Commission communication request on accommodating increased defense expenditure to five percent that had been proposed by the US president believed to be within the stability f the growth Pact.
