When Volodymyr Zelensky, President o Ukraine gave the go ahead to the Norh American country of the United States to open a military base in the East European country in order to be admitted to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, NATO, but was opposed by the Russian Government he knew, he has played into Vladimir Putin, Russian President’s hand, who will see him as working for the West.
The 1062 move by Russia to open a military base in Cuba, a neigbouring US, country which was opposed by the then deceased President John F. Kennedy with the approval of the Congress may have informed why the Russian Government in return and driven by the threat of the NATO’s s expansion along its borders and pave the way for the East European country to join the Organisation that would weaken the country militarily to succeed.
But France, which had colonized 22 African countries, and mines and export their mineral resources as its own, Italy , Germany and other European countries including the North American country of the United States, US, which companies mines Ukraine’s Lithium and other mineral resources had assured Zelensky led Ukrainian government of support to ignore Putin’s warning not to join NATO.
True to the Western nations assurance to provide the necessary financial support and weapons’ supply to Ukraine to stand up to Russia in case of an outbreak of war may have kept to their promise. So far, the US, appears to have spent well-over $175 billion compared to the 32 NATO member -countries which had spent US $132 billion from the US 476 voted for their defence EU, just under half of the $968 billion that was said to have been spent by the US government since the beginning of the proxy war with Russia.
The US government, which had lost similar proxy wars in Vietnan, Afganistan, Iraq, and Syria in the past may have known that it will lose out in the Ukraine war despite the billions of dollars spent on Ukraine over the last three years that it had started a tactical withdraw in 2025, with the election and assumption of office of Donald Trump, as the President of the US.
This is evident as the US had allocated no new aid to Ukraine despite pleas by President Zelensky in March and April forcing France, Germany and other EU countries to bear the financial burden amounting to US $72 billion.
With other proxy wars being fought by the US, across the world including threat to the Asian countries of China and North Korea, both nuclear powers which had had brought the two countries including Iran a Middle East country which is at war with Israel, may have dawned on the north American country that its economy will collapse if it did not retrace its step.
This may have informed why Trump led US government had sent a message to the leadership to the EU, to be prepared to pay for all the weapons that will be supplied by the country to Ukraine as it could no longer foot the bill as it is telling on the economy. President Trump had given is words to only sell NATO US made weapons, including the patriots, that NATO leadership would give to Ukraine to sustain the war with Russia.
The US and Germany had struck a deal as Russia rain missiles on Ukraine major cities including Kyiv, the Capital, to provide the country with weaponry to protect the cities from the nightly Russian attacks. Initially, the Germany government, was prepared to pay for the weapons as part of a broader deal with the Trump Administration to sell EU, arms destined for Ukraine but realized the implications and made a U-turn to avoid been attacked by Russia.
This may have informed why the Germany Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who is not ready have any open confrontation with Russia if the weapons that are to be supplied to Ukraine are found to be NATO produced weapons that he had made a request to buy US-made air defense systems.
The Germany Chancellor was said to have also given his words to President Trump to purchase additional Patriot systems from the US, to make them available to Ukraine for its recovery and stop further night bombing by Russia.
But President, who is gradually losing his popularity at home for fight a war that was not a direct US induced war with Russia Federation, had described as laughable Germany Chancellor demand as he had his ground that the US would sell NATO-US made weapons, including the Patriots, that NATO should give to Ukraine and not US produced weapons.
. The US President, described as a war monger in international security circles was said to have approved $10 billion in weapons sales to Ukraine comprising of 17 systems and 17 Patriot systems.
Although Patriots are too expensive to use on drones, they are the only weapon that could be used by Ukrainian forces to shoot down Russian ballistic missiles and also effective against cruise missiles. Take for instance in June month of June alone, Russia was said to have launched 300 cruise missiles and 5,000 drones against Ukraine and none shot down by Ukraine forces.
Many believes that if the $10 billion weapons sales approved, by President Trump, to be supplied to Ukraine allegedly made up of 17 batteries or 17 Launchers, which security experts could not confirm whether they are US-NATO produced or US defence companies manufactured, the Ukrainian defence forces would have been able to shoot down some of the Russia drones and cruise missiles.
There are indications that the US, France and Germany, described as are pillars of the proxy war between US controlled NATO and Russia which may have tactically withdrawn giving aid to Ukraine to sustain the war with the neighbouring Russia may have left Zelensky and his other European allies helpless to defend the country from Russia night attacks. The Ukrainian Leader, who is relying on the support of NATO member countries and the US to defeat Russia, appears to have realized that it is a mission impossible.

Russia was said to have launched more than 300 drones and eight cruise missiles on the Kyiv city assault, which analysts had described as one of the deadliest attacks the city has experienced since President Putin Launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
The more worrisome was the use of additional 300 drones and 10 advanced cruise missiles, targeted at 27 locations in Ukraine on August 2, 2025. The attack was so devastating as many Ukrainian security and intelligence personnel were said to have lost their lives which was said to have resulted in taking down the country’s national Flag and replaced with black Flags as people wore black bangs as there was total chaos and mourning.
President Trump, who sees himself as the world Leader that he can order any country had given the Russia President 50 days to surrender and end the war with Ukraine or face severe tariffs targeting its oil and gas but was advised to further strengthen the sanctions as the previous ones were not effective.
The US President who could not take it from Putin for not obeying his orders and who sees his country as the strongest in the world may have reduced the 50 days deadline given to Russia to end the war with Ukraine to 10 -day deadline, expected to expire on August 2025, but President Putin, who could not hide his feelings had said ‘’Russia is not Israel or Iran’’. Putin Haas made a bold statement that the war with Ukraine has just begun and ‘’the free is free to jump into the fight. As Russian Forces are not holding back’’.
It was the first strike after Trump had issued the 10-day warning to Russia. The drones were said to been undetected by the Ukraine defense systems as they never saw it coming. Guess, who was watching: Israel security operatives, who were said to have alerted the US Authorities of Iran drones used in their recent conflict in the Ukraine-Russia war.
The US government interference on the Ukraine -Russia war, described as’’ war of two brothers’’, may have heightened the Russian attacks to flatten Ukraine to remove it from the world map. The international Community are waiting to see President Trump next line of action against Russia as China, North Korea, Iran and other BRIC’s currency member countries including India have thrown their weight on Russia to make a mockery of US and its NATO allies.
The closure of the strait of Hormuz, a special oil route by the Iranian government, which energy analysts had said significantly impact on global oil supplies and prices to US and other parts of the world may have sent a message to Trump to stop meddling in other countries affair or become an international embarrassment.
He may have read the handwriting on the wall that he was said to have reached out to the Chines President, Xi Jinping to intervene to see that the Strait Hormuz was reopened by Iranian government to avoid throwing the world into serious economic crisis just as Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister and US , ally was said to have put a call across to the Russian President Putin, over undisclosed reasons recently.’’ The world is changing that may reduce US powers and the value of the dollar’’ , a, Diplomat had said.
